My Own Wings of Fire Dragon Tribes! (2024)

Here are a few of my own WoF dragon tribes! Feel free to make your own OCs of these dragons, although I cannot draw dragons, so I cannot give you any bases to color. (Sorry.)[]

FairyWings: A bit smaller than bees, can be any color, but rarely black or gray. FairyWings have two wings like a SilkWing’s, but their wings are clear, like a bee’s or a dragonfly’s. They live either in beehives or in flowers; large groups in beehives, smaller groups, about one to three, live in flowers. Sometimes live in trees, but rarely. They can’t breathe fire, instead relying on their size to hide themselves. They can tame/calm animals and sometimes ride on other bigger animals’ backs. They are great at healing, and mostly using this skill to help other animals instead of other dragons; but when they do heal other dragons, it’s other FairyWings. They are named after colors, butterflies, moths, & adjectives like RainWings are named after (examples: Mythic, Bright, etc). FairyWings usually wield magic, although it is different from animus magic. They are a very peaceful tribe. Their queen is Queen Mystic.

StoneWings: Always at least mostly gray, sometimes with bits of blue-gray and/or black. They are accomplished miners and are great at building, but not just as good as WoodWings (we’ll talk about those later). They live in caves and have come to peace with the CrystalWings, also known as the OreWings, but they have different queens. StoneWings can’t breathe fire, but are immune to it, and instead have more of the frostbreath that IceWings have, but theirs is a bit warmer, and not so dangerous, and is instead a gray color. They aren’t very good at flying, and rarely come out of their caves. They are named after types of stone. The StoneWing queen is Queen Onyx.

OreWings / CrystalWings: They also live in caves and are just as good as mining as the StoneWings are. They are gray with some shiny, reflective colorful patches here and there. Their queen is Queen Sapphire. OreWings / CrystalWings’ tail tips are shaped like crystals, and they can shoot shards of crystals from them, and/or can do the same thing from their wrists. Their horns also are shaped like crystals and are sharp and dangerous. They are great at fighting, and come out of their caves more often than the StoneWings do, making them better at flying. Queen Sapphire reluctantly agreed to the peace, knowing it would not help her tribe’s reputation as fighters, and told Queen Onyx that she would not hesitate to fight her tribe if the StoneWings posed any threat or attacked any OreWings. OreWings are also a lot like GlassWings (see below). They are immune to fire, just like StoneWings. OreWings are named after types of gemstones and ore.

GlassWings: Light blue scales with clear wing skin, “tail shards”, as we’ll call them, and horns, with a few clear spots here and there. GlassWings can shoot shards of glass from anywhere on their body, and everyone knows to not mess with them. They have shards of glass hidden under every one of their scales, and if you even slightly touch a GlassWing, the touch will trigger a kind of harpoon like jellyfish have and will send shards of glass flying out from around the touched spot—glass that severely injures and can even kill if it hits the right spot on a dragon or any animal. GlassWings are the biggest threat to FairyWings because of this. Their horns, tail shards, and talons are sharp as a piece of glass, and the tail shards and horns can stab right through a dragon’s throat, which is always a fatal move. Their talons are sharp enough to, but, well, y’know, that wouldn’t exactly work—at least, not without getting blood and guts all over their arm. GlassWings are feared by everyone, and their queen is Queen Shard. They are named after sharp, glass-like objects (or anything related to those things).

WoodWings: Brown scales, sometimes with patches of green and/or gold. They are accomplished builders, and live in trees or wooden huts. They can breathe fire, usually using this skill to make bonfires or campfires instead of using it to protect themselves. But though they can breathe fire, it does hurt them. Their queen is Queen Pine. WoodWings usually live in groups of siblings like MudWings do. Sometimes, but very rarely, they can shoot vines from their wrists to trap or possibly even choke their enemies to death. Even when they have this skill, they rarely ever use it as a weapon, as they are a very peaceful tribe, like FairyWings. WoodWings are named after types of trees and wood-related things.

BlazeWings: Red, orange, and yellow scales, sometimes with bits of black here and there. They can breathe fire, and their fire breath is very, very hot, and can sometimes melt a dragon’s scales. Their tail tips have a flame on them, and they also have fire along their backs sometimes. Their talons are scorching hot and can burn right through their enemies’ skin. They are immune to fire, not able to feel it at all, and usually live in volcanoes, but mostly alone or in small groups of about five to ten. Their queen is Queen Scorch. They have control over fire, but only gain this skill once they are five or six years old, and have to learn how to properly use it. They can summon fire as well as control it. They are ancestors of the SunWings, which we’ll talk about later. Their scales can emit heat. BlazeWings are named after fire-related things; examples: Ember, Flame, Firewhirl, etc.. Like SkyWings, sometimes FlameWings are born with too much or no fire—too much might seem impossible, but it is; most FlameWings don’t set fire to or melt everything they touch, but when born with too much, everything they touch melts, while objects closer to them instantly heat up. They (obviously) can withstand extremely hot temperatures.

BreezeWings: Purple and/or gray scales with huge wings. They are sleek and nimble with huge wings like SkyWings, making them fast fliers. Their queen is Queen Whirlwind.. They usually live in the clouds, sometimes shaping them into little hut-like cloud formations to live in. They cannot breathe fire, but can control the wind and have a sort of wind-like breath instead of fire. They can spin their tails to create wind. BreezeWings are named after wind-related things; examples are: Windstorm,, Gust, Wind, etc, sometimes named after storms like hurricanes and tornadoes, but not often. They are ancestors of the StormWings.

StormWings: Gray, black, and/or blue scales, can control weather and are great fliers, with huge wings like BreezeWings do.. They live in the clouds as well. Their queen is Queen Hurricane. They cannot breathe fire, instead have either lightning or water-like breath. They can shoot lightning and rain from their wrists and/or tails and use their lightning to electrocute their enemies. They work with the BreezeWings to control the weather, but StormWings have more control over the weather than the BreezeWings do. They can spin their tails very fast to create wind, just as the BreezeWings do. They are the ancestors of the BreezeWings. Their tails can be shaped like lightning or have a raindrop-shaped tip. Their horns look like lightning most of the time. StormWings are named after storms like hurricanes and tornadoes or wind-related things; examples: Thunder, Lightning, Thunderbolt, Tornado, etc.

SunWings: Orange, yellow, and/or white, sometimes with red and/or small flecks of black. SunWings live in hot areas like deserts and get their strength from the sun. Their queen is Queen Sola. They can breathe fire (they obtain the ability to blast fireballs at their enemies when they’re older) and emit a bright light from a certain scale on their wrists to blind their enemies, which is a skill that gets more powerful as they get older. They use this skill to hunt and to protect themselves. They can also withstand very hot temperatures and a very bright light. SunWings like to bask in the sun on the warm desert sands of their home. Their scales absorb half of this sunlight to radiate heat and the other half “recharges” their ability to reflect the sun. SunWings are named after sun-related things; examples: Sol, Solar, Daylight, Solarflare, Sunrise, Sunset, etc.

FlightWings: White, pale blue, or silver scales (sometimes with pale purple) with huge, feathery wings and a feathered or furred tail tip. FlightWings have long, curved horns that tilt backwards and feathers on the back of their wrists. They don’t have spikes on their necks and heads,, instead having soft, silky fur on their heads that run between their horns and end somewhere on their necks. Sometimes, this fur ends right after going through the horns, and instead they have feathers down the back of their necks. They have spikes on their tails and backs, though, and their spikes can move—FlightWings’ spikes can flatten against their scales, or go almost straight up. They live in the mountains, but spend most of their days flying high above the ground. Instead of having fire, FlightWings exhale a hurricane-force wind that can knock their enemy out of the sky or off their feet. Their scales feel soft, although truly, their scales are thick enough to protect them from cold temperatures. Sometimes, they also have fur on the underside of their necks and/or bellies. They are named after birds (mostly blue ones), shades of blue and purple, and sky-related things; for example, Blue Jay, Feather(s), Cloud(s), Periwinkle, Pale, Azure, etc. Their queen is Queen Celestial.

SwiftWings: Large wings, bigger than any other dragons’. They have tawny or pale gold scales, always with a few stripes or swirls of black here and there. They have long, thin tails with spikes on the end. These spikes have flaps of skin on them that help them fly. The spikes can also be folded in and quickly spread out. They also have spikes like this on their necks. These neck flaps are always visible, though. They can be folded in and immediately burst out. These neck flaps are used to help SwiftWings glide quickly through the air. The spikes along their spine are also like this. Their horns are always somewhat curled at the end. They sometimes have flaps on their horns, too. They are fast and powerful fliers and fighters. They are named like NightWings are, although they always have something related to flight or speed and another SwiftWing talent in their names; example: Swiftflight, Fastflier, Quickflight, Viciousflight, Rageglide, etc. The SwiftWing Queen is Queen Swiftslash. So that’s it! FairyWings, StoneWings, OreWings/CrystalWings, GlassWings, WoodWings, BlazeWings, BreezeWings, StormWings, SunWings, FlightWings, and SwiftWings. Feel free to make your own OCs of these dragons.;)
