Billy Corgan has defended Taylor Swift against criticism over the length of 'The Tortured Poets Department'.

The Smashing Pumpkins frontman - whose own latest release 'ATUM' was released in three parts with a total of 33 songs - hailed the 'Karma' hitmaker as "one of the most gifted pop artists of all time" and admitted he doesn't understand why some people were not happy that her latest record is a 31-track double album.

He told the Irish Times newspaper: “Taylor Swift is one of the most gifted pop artists of all time. How is it a bad thing that she’s releasing more music? I can’t follow that… You can go on Spotify and just skip it.”

The 'Today' hitmaker believes the way music is released now means it is perfectly possible for fans to create their own "playlist" of songs they enjoy from one lengthy album and so they should just stop complaining.

He added: “People complained about the length of my last album, ‘ATUM’. I thought, ‘Well, just go make your own playlist.’ Just listen to the record one time – rag over the six or 10 songs you like and make your own record.

"Why is this such a strange concept? Have some sense of proportionality.

"This hyperbolic thing – ‘They ruined 'Star Wars'. My God, this is all too much for me to process’ – it’s all a bit childish.”

The 57-year-old singer also drew reference to the late Sinead O'Connor, insisting it wouldn't be a "bad thing" for all of her previously-unreleased music to come out as one package.

He said: “Now that Sinéad’s gone, would it be a bad thing if somebody turned up tomorrow and said, ‘Hey, I just found this tape, and there’s enough for 20 – or 30 or 50 – Sinéad songs.’ Would that be a bad thing?”

Trina McGee is pregnant at the age of 54.

The 'Boy Meets World' actress - who already has two children with ex-husband Courtland Davis and a third from a previous relationship - has confirmed she has another baby on the way and called on fans to pray for her and her spouse Marcello Thedford.

She announced in a post on Instagram which was set to The Supremes' 'Baby Love': "At the tender age of 54 I have found myself pregnant. Please bless us with your prayers for a safe delivery. Thank you."

In the caption, the actress - who is best known for playing Angela Moore in 'Boy Meets World' from 1997 to 2000 - told her followers she was planning a social media break.

She wrote: "Gonna sign off social media for a bit. Thanks for your prayers and well wishes in advance."

Trina made the announcement after an eagle-eyed fan spotted her changing shape when she shared a photo of herself in a cropped halter top and long skirt while on vacation in Belize.

One follower wrote: "the bump! [heart-eyed emoji] (sic)"

Trina simply replied: "yup."

The 'Classmates' actress - who has been married to actor, producer and director Marcello for 16 years after meeting him 28 years ago while shooting 'Daylight' in Rome - previously reflected on being secretly pregnant with her third child while filming 'Boy Meets World'.

She shared stills from an episode of the show and wrote on Instagram: "That time I played a teenager but in reality I was 6 months pregnant...(sic)"

Lovato's five treatment stints

Demi Lovato got used to "not seeing hope" amid her addiction struggles.

The 31-year-old star has been in rehab five times to treat her substance abuse issues, eating disorder and other mental health problems, and she's told how she felt "defeated" each time she began in-patient treatment but eventually started to "find joy" as she worked on herself.

Speaking during a discussion with Dr. Charlie Shaffer at the Center For Youth Mental Health at New York-Presbyterian's annual benefit on Monday (03.06.24), People magazine reports she said: "I have been to inpatient treatment five times, and it has something that every single time I walked back into a treatment center, I felt defeated.

"And I know that experience firsthand, but I think the glimmer of hope was when I started putting in the work and I started to, whether it was work, a programme, or talk to my treatment team and build relationships there.

"I think the glimmer of hope started to change when I started to find joy and the little things in life. And that was something that was so foreign to me before because I was so used to, so used to not seeing hope."

The 'Sorry Not Sorry' hitmaker admitted things "definitely felt different" during her fifth stint of treatment as she finally accepted she needed to change.

She said: "It felt like I had hit rock bottom and I just knew what I needed to do, which was to live a life in recovery. And that was something that I pushed off for so long."

Demi told how medication has played a part in her recovery and helped her "tremendously".

She said:"I also needed the right medication. I think for me medication has helped me tremendously. It's helped so many people tremendously.

"And I think I had hit another low, and I was like, 'what am I doing wrong?' I felt defeated. But then, when all of the key parts started to fit into place like a perfect puzzle, I started to find the light again."

Through treatment, the 'Confident' singer has grown to understand her mental health is not her "identity", but just part of who she is.

She said: "It wasn't until I went into treatment for the first time that I realized this isn't who I am. It's just a part of what makes me me, meaning my struggles have shaped me into the pottery that you see today, but it's never become my identity since then. It's just become something about me that makes me a little interesting, I guess you could say.

"I'm grateful for the things that I've been through and what I've overcome."

The-Dream accused of rape

BANG Showbiz - Jun 4, 2024 / 6:36 pm | Story: 490847

Music producer The-Dream has been accused of raping, physically abusing and manipulating his former protégé Chanaaz Mangroe.

A new lawsuit obtained by Page Six on Tuesday (04.06.24) shows 33 year old Chanaaz – who performed as Channii Monroe – claims the 46-year-old musician, born Terius Youngdell Nash, trafficked her under the guise of a legitimate recording and distribution contract.

She says she was subjected to an “abusive, violent, and manipulative relationship” filled with “physical assaults, violent sexual encounters, and horrific psychological manipulation”.

Chanaaz was working on an international visa in the US from the Netherlands when she met The-Dream and claims she was 23 years old when associates of the singer reached out to her via social media in 2014.

After she sent samples of her work, she claims she was invited to join producer and his 50 year old partner Tricky Stewart, born Christopher Alan Stewart, in Atlanta.

Her suit states: “In both Atlanta and Los Angeles, Dream used his age and influence in the industry to manipulate the young artist into believing that she needed him to be successful, and roped her into his world through false promises to gain Ms Mangroe’s complete trust.”

Chanaaz adds Grammy-winner The-Dream vowed he would extend her working visa and “write blockbuster songs for her if she became part of his so-called ‘sanctuary,’ like he did for Beyoncé and Rihanna”.

She says he “controlled” all aspects of her life in the US and “forced” her to drink excessive amounts of alcohol by roughly pulling her head back by her hair and pouring it down her throat.

Her suit states The-Dream frequently strangled Ms Mangroe during violent sex.

The lawsuit also states the producer refused to wear protection during their alleged sexual encounters and that he raped her “in the back of a renovated sprinter van, the same evening that he forced her to engage in sex acts in a public movie theatre”.

Chanaaz’s suit includes screenshots of alleged texts from The-Dream, in which he asked to “undress” her emotionally so he can “know what’s underneath your heart”.

The-Dream has denied the allegations, and said in a statement to The New York Times: “These claims are untrue and defamatory. I oppose all forms of harassment and have always strived to help people realise their career goals.

“As someone committed to making a positive impact on my fellow artists and the world at large, I am deeply offended and saddened by these accusations.”

Chanaaz told Page Six: “Choosing to speak out about the trauma I survived has been one of the most difficult decisions of my life, but ultimately, what Dream did to me made it impossible to live the life I envisioned for myself and pursue my goals as a singer and songwriter.

“Ultimately, my silence has become too painful, and I realized that I need to tell my story to heal. I hope that doing so will also help others and prevent future horrific abuse.”

The performer’s attorneys, Douglas H Wigdor and Meredith Firetog, also told Page Six The-Dream’s alleged actions are “another horrific example of how men in the music industry use their power and influence to manipulate and harm others”.

Referencing the string of sexual assault lawsuits facing 54 year old Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs – and the rapper’s 2016 attack on his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, 37, which was caught in hotel surveillance footage – the attorneys added: “Dream, like Sean Combs did with Ms Ventura and others, used his standing as a prominent recording artist and producer to subject Ms Mangroe to vicious physical, psychological, and sexual abuse,’ the lawyers continued.

“While she will never fully recover from what he and those who supported him did to her, her willingness to speak out now is evidence of her extraordinary strength.

“We are honoured to represent her.”

'It's just crazily in my DNA'

Robert Downey Jr. is "surprisingly open-minded" to a return as Iron Man.

The 59-year-old actor played the superhero for more than a decade in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and would consider a comeback as the character because the role is in his "DNA".

In conversation with Jodie Foster for Variety's Actors on Actors series, Robert said about putting on Iron Man's suit again: "It's just crazily in my DNA. Probably the most like-me character I've ever played, even though he's way cooler than I am. I've become surprisingly open-minded to the idea."

It is not the first time that Robert has discussed coming back as Iron Man as he revealed earlier this year that he would "happily" play the role again even though the character was killed off in the 2019 movie 'Avengers: Endgame'.

Downey Jr. told Esquire magazine in April: "It’s too integral a part of my DNA. That role chose me. And look, I always say, never, ever bet against Kevin Feige. It is a losing bet. He’s the house. He will always win."

Despite the star's comments, 'Avengers: Endgame' directors Joe and Anthony Russo explained that they cannot envisage a return for Iron Man after the character's death in their blockbuster.

Speaking to GamesRadar at the Sands International Film Festival recently, Anthony said: "I don't know how they would do it. I don't know what the road to that would be."

Joe added: "I mean, we closed that book, so it would be up to them to figure out how to reopen it."

Paltrow selling LA mansion

Gwyneth Paltrow is reportedly selling her Los Angeles mansion for nearly $30 million after her youngest child Moses graduated from high school.

The 51-year-old actress turned Goop founder – who recently spoke of her fears of having an empty nest – bought the 8,000-square-foot mansion for $9.95 million in 2012 while married to her now-ex-husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, 47, with whom she has daughter Apple, 20, as well as her 18 year old son Moses.

Listing agent Lea Porter told the Wall Street Journal Gwyneth is now looking to downsize from the eight-bedroom, 11-bathroom home, built in 1950 and renovated in 2009, and is selling it for $29.9 million.

When Gwyneth married her second husband, TV writer and producer Brad Falchuk, 52, he moved into the pad with his two kids, Isabella and Brody, who he had from a previous marriage.

The home features a fireplace, bar, marble island in the kitchen and a wood-burning oven, as well as a plunge pool in the garden and a guesthouse with a temperature-controlled wine cellar, gym, game room, office and home cinema.

Gwyneth and Brad were at Moses’ graduation on Friday (31.05.24), along with her ex Chris, actress mother Blythe Danner, 81, and Apple.

The former actress last year told how she was overjoyed Apple was back from college for the summer after leaving her feeling “not very well” about the prospect of being left with an empty nest.

The ‘Sliding Doors’ Oscar-winner said in a newsletter to her Goop fans: “Apple has returned from her freshman year at college, and I am so struck by how quickly this school year has passed.

“It is lovely to see her and her elementary school friends back together like a flock of sweet sparrows, coming in and out of one another’s houses in packs, then dispersing.

“My heart is full hearing their laughter ricochet through the halls. Dynamics in the house have shifted back to what they were a year ago, only she and her brother bicker less, these 10 months bringing growth for them both.’

Gwyneth said on ‘The Late Late Show’ in January 2023 when its dad-of-three host James Corden, 44, asked how she felt about an “impending empty nest”: “Not very well. Not very well.”

She appeared on the show alongside mum-of-two actress Hilary Swank, 49, and added: “I’m going to be at Hilary’s house – just hand me one (child.)”

Hilary told her: “Come over, there’s plenty to go around.”

Halsey has been privately battling illness, the singer revealed Tuesday.

She shared the news on Instagram in a series of videos that appear to document the singer receiving infusions.

“Long story short, I'm lucky to be alive,” she wrote in the caption. “Short story long, I wrote an album.”

A diagnosis was not immediately clear. Representatives for Halsey did not immediately respond to The Associated Press’ request for comment.

“I feel like an old lady," Halsey says aloud in the first video, while rubbing her legs in apparent pain. "I told myself I’m giving myself two more years to be sick. At 30, I’m having a rebirth and I’m not gonna be sick and I’m gonna look super hot and have lots of energy and I’m just gonna get to re-do my 20s in my 30s.”

The singer also released a new song on Tuesday, an acoustic guitar ballad titled “The End.”

The new album on the horizon is a follow-up to her fourth studio album, 2021’s ambitious “If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power,” produced by Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.

According to a press release, Halsey is making a donation to both The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Lupus Research Alliance alongside the release of “The End.”

Sean “Diddy” Combs has sold off his stake in Revolt, the media company the rapper and entrepreneur founded over a decade ago.

Shares in Revolt held by Combs, who served as the company's chair, have been fully redeemed and retired, the Los Angeles-based company said Tuesday a statement on its website.

Revolt didn't disclose how much Combs was paid for his stake in the hip-hop news and entertainment company, which he founded in 2013.

In the statement, CEO Detavio Samuels noted that when he joined the company in 2020 he realized “our mission is bigger than any individual.”

Revolt also announced a new ownership structure that will give its employees an equity stake in the company, which streams shows online, such as “Black Girl Stuff,” and “The Life of Draco," featuring rapper Big Draco.

The move comes as Combs' reputation has been sullied following several lawsuits filed late last year that raised allegations of sexual assault and rape on the part of one of hip-hop's most recognizable performers and producers.

In November, he was sued by R&B singer Cassie, who said he subjected her to a yearslong abusive relationship that included beatings and rape. Combs settled the lawsuit with Cassie, whose full name is Casandra Ventura, a few days after it was filed.

Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria are the next family set to star in their own reality series.

The actor and producer, who has seven kids under age 10 with his wife, announced the TLC reality show about their life as a party of nine. “The Baldwins,” the show’s working title, is set to release in 2025.

“We’re inviting you into our home to experience the ups and downs, the good, the bad, the wild and the crazy,” Baldwin said in a video he shared to Instagram on Tuesday.

In the announcement video, the couple joked about Hilaria announcing another pregnancy, but she said they are done having kids before the clip cut to a chaotic shot of their children screaming and the parents struggling to wrangle the bunch for a group photo.

The couple married in July 2012 and welcomed their first child in August 2013. Baldwin was previously married to actor Kim Basinger, who had his eldest daughter, Ireland.

The announcement comes as Baldwin prepares for trial for his involuntary manslaughter charge in the fatal shooting on the set of the film “Rust” in 2021. The trial is scheduled for July in Santa Fe and Baldwin has pleaded not guilty. The charge carries a maximum sentence of 18 months in prison.

While filming the Western movie, which Baldwin produced and starred in, a revolver he was holding fired, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza. Baldwin has said that he did not pull the trigger.

In April, the film’s weapons supervisor Hannah Gutierrez-Reed received the maximum sentence of 18 months in a New Mexico state penitentiary after being convicted of involuntary manslaughter after a jury determined she failed to follow gun safety protocols.

Baldwin’s legal team attempted to dismiss the charge against him, but Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer, who also presided over Gutierrez-Reed’s case, upheld the charge in May.

Cyndi Lauper has announced her farewell tour for later this year.

The 70-year-old pop icon has unveiled plans for her first major tour in a decade as visits 23 cities across North America in October and December, starting in Montreal and coming to a close in Chicago.

The run of shows has been billed as 'The Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour', taking its name from her legendary 1983 hit single.

Cyndi will reveal opening acts for the tour at a later date.

On Tuesday (04.06.24), she is releasing new documentary 'Let The Canary Sing', which has been directed by Alison Ellwood and will launch on US TV via Paramount+.

The career-spanning film will premiere the same day Cyndi is expected at a handprint ceremony at Hollywood's TCL Chinese Theatre.

She's also set to appear on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' on Wednesday (05.06.24) evening.

News of her last tour comes after she signed a deal with Swedish virtual avatar company Pophouse Entertainment Group, which is behind the 'Abba Voyage' arena show.

Now, the company will pursue "creative activations" of her catalogue, including tracks like 'True Colours' and 'Time After TIme', with live shows, TV plans and other projects.

Announcing the deal earlier this year, the pop star said: "Since we first met, Pophouse has impressed me with their commitment to maintaining and developing my professional life’s work and ensuring its legacy.

"Their creativity and vision, combined with my continued involvement via our unique joint venture, is what is most exciting to me.

"I can’t wait to participate in this new stage in my musical evolution and I could not be more pleased to know my music will now be in Pophouse’s safe hands as they build upon my legacy in the years to come.”

And in a video discussing the deal, she told Bjorn she was inspired by the work Abba have done.

She added: "When I saw the Abba Voyage, I started to think about what could be done, and then I got excited. I’m not selling, I’m buying.”

Kanye harassment alleged

Kanye West has been sued by an OnlyFans star for alleged sexual harassment.

The 46-year-old rapper hired Lauren Pisciotta in 2021 to be his personal assistant, but she has now claimed he sent her a barrage of explicit text messages that detailed his bedroom fantasies, according to RadarOnline.com.

The outlet also claimed that the 'Jesus Walks' rapper " convinced his then-assistant to delete her OnlyFans account one year later", and promised to reimburse her the $1 million salary she would have normally earned by selling racy pictures on the adults-only subscription service.

According to TMZ, one of the alleged text messages read: "See my problem is I be wanting to f*** but then after I f*** I want a girl to tell me how hard they been f***** while I'm f****** them. Then I want her to cheat on me ..."

In a second message, Kanye allegedly ranted about race as he divulged his fantasies further.

Another text is said to have read: "Is my d*** racist? It is. This f****** racist d*** of mine. I going to beat this f******racist d*** for being f****** racist. I'm going to stare at pictures of white woman with black a***** and beat the s*** out of my racist d*** ... Beating the s*** out of his big black c***."

According to a copy of the lawsuit obtained by the outlet, Pisciotta claimed that Kanye would masturbat* during phone conversations with her and ask if she could hear or guess what he was doing.

She then claimed that he was "fixated" on knowing intimate details about her boyfriends and then sent her a number of sexually explicit videos, before promoting her to Chief of Staff for his various companies, on a salary of $4 million.

The model then claimed that Kanye fired her from the role and offered her a redundancy package of $3 million, which she accepted, but claimed that he never paid her.

In addition to sexual harassment, Pisciotta is suing Kanye for breach of contract, wrongful termination and creating a hostile work environment

Too busy to get married

BANG Showbiz - Jun 3, 2024 / 6:54 pm | Story: 490643

Cyndi Lauper will embark on her farewell tour later this year - Entertainment News (14)

Photo: BANG Showbiz. All rights reserved.

Brooke Burke hasn't married her fiance Scott Rigsby yet because they have been too busy to fit in a wedding.

The 52-year-old former 'Dancing with the Stars' host got engaged to the property developer back in 2021, but they have yet to set a date to tie the knot and Brooke has now explained they had planned to marry in May but the idea got shelved because family life was so hectic.

She told PEOPLE: "We hoped to get married in May, and May came and went quickly."

Brooke is mum to daughters Neriah, 23, and Sierra, 21, with ex-husband Garth Fisher as well as daughter Rain, 16, and son Shaya, 15, with ex-husband David Charvet, while Scott is dad to Lila, 15, and Levi, 12, from a previous relationship.

Brooke added of their busy schedule: "School, two of our children turning 16, getting their driver's licence, Sierra graduating from USC. Neriah was supposed to be on tour. We finished building our home in Arizona ...

"We didn't have a minute to breathe, let alone plan the greatest party of our life. So back to the drawing board, and now we need to get really busy."

Scott added they don't want to rush the wedding so they would rather wait until they can plan it properly: "I think for us, it's having the experience. I mean, the whole reason to do it, too, is for the kids and for us and the family.

"So we want to do it right. We just don't want to rush into it ... I said we could always go get married on a weekend or plan something quick, but we want to just do it right."

Brooke previously admitted she has decided not to wear white on her big day after sporting the colour for her two previous trips down the aisle.

She told DailyMail.com: "I already did white. I might be a bit daring as I am looking at fun colours.

"I was thinking more of a nude tone, I am really into nude tones these days, they are so elegant."
