Very similar to the Midland G18. The antenna is delicate. A little heavy radio.
After making the Midland G18s very limited, I went online to look for cheaper two-way radios. These found by chance here on Amazon intrigued me. I bought them. Once you arrive I was pleasantly surprised. The package is complete with everything as described. the radios look very much like the Midland G18. They are packed with features like FM radio. they can also be used on non-free frequencies. They are very customizable. And if that's not enough, you can program them from your computer with the special program for free. the battery lasts a long time, the two radios seem to transmit and receive perfectly. Two radios cost less together than the G18 competitors. But in comparison they do not look out of place. On the contrary. I simply recommend them. Only flaw, if you have to find a fault with this type of transceivers, and that they are slightly heavy. For the rest, you can't ask for anything better.

Peccato, perché l’assistenza online è ottima, ma la gioia è durato solo pochi giorni, dopodiché sono arrivate le delusioni. Innanzitutto l’auricolare è inutilizzabile, ad ogni pressione di tasti c’è un “bump” che fa letteralmente male all’orecchio, poi ha iniziato a dare dei problemi col tasto A/B che più di qualche volta mandava in trasmissione l’apparecchio (ovviamente il vox era spento). Infine il wattaggio dichiarato, non ho riscontrato differenza tra 4 e 8 W su entrambe le bande, quindi la potenza massima è 4W o meno.

Ottima radio vhf/uhf. Arriva con tutti i canali Midland già impostati, sia i 69 LPD che i 16 PMR446. Si possono poi memorizzare anche altre frequenze. La potenza è elevata anche grazie alla antenna potenziata in dotazione ed in ascolto mantiene la carica per molto tempo.Le istruzioni, sebbene scritte a caratteri minuscoli, sono in italiano e si possono anche scaricare dal sito del produttore.È possibile ascoltare le stazioni radio FM (premendo il tasto sulla sinistra in alto), però, poichè i segnali radio Uhf/Vhf hanno la prevalenza su quelli FM, consiglio di impostare lo “squelch” (menù voce1) almeno a livello 4. È dotata infine di allarme acustico e di piccola luce di emergenza.

Positive surprise, ordered another one right away
I am not a licensed radio amateur, yet, so I use this radio just to listen and to get hands on experience on using and configuring such a radio. The preconfigured license free PMR446 channels work fine with my Motorola T-series radios.After many Baofeng reviews around the Net I was expecting a cheap toy but was very positively surprised by the feel of quality on this radio – display, keypad, volume control knob, even the packaging.Programming the radio with Chirp and a basic programming cable went smoothly on the first try.I like this radio to such an extent that I ordered another one the same day I got the first one.Maybe all Baofengs are like this, though. I do not have a reference. I am happy with this TechSide variant.I am waiting on the delivery of a power and SWR meter and a basic spectrum analyzer to see what this radio outputs. What are the output levels and how clean the transmission is.

Overall Good
The radio arrive fast and i tested for few days in some places on my vacation. Forest, city, mountain and sea. Was pretty good. You want more power, change the antenna. Even with the Tech side antenna you could get enough area but if you need more power, get another one.Actually it is a good radio. A little too expensive but on general is a good choice. I don’t know if is some improvement after the Baofeng uv5r 8w model. After my opinion is the same performance.Update:I decide to buy another one just because of the team from Tech side. They really do the best to offer a good service and a good product. Hopefully they will keep in going and improve the performance.

Leistung ist die volle Veratschung
Ich habe mich immer gewundert, dass die Baofeng Besitzer teilweise bei gleichem Standort, trotz ihrer “nur” angeblichen 5Watt bessere Reichweiten erreichen.Heute hatte ich das Vergnügen, an einem Messgerät die angeblichen 8 Watt Sendeleistung zu testen.😳🙈🤮Im High Level, bringt der Schrott, gerade mal 3,5 Watt Sendeleistung.Meine Empfehlung, wer Geld zum Fenster rauswerfen möchte, kann gerne kaufen.Ich hätte lieber 40-50€ mehr investiert und mir ein vernüftiges Gerät gekauft.🤨 Wie heißt es so schön, wer billig kauft, kauft zweimal und dann zu guter Letzt, viel teuerer. 😔

Una bella radiolina pmr/ lpd con i canali preimpostati tipo Midland, bande: uhf /vhf con 128 canali ed 8 watt di potenza, la batteria da 1800 Ma è un po’ deboluccia se tante volte si usa in alta potenza.Buona qualità dei materiali e dell’antenna della radio portatile.Facile uso e accessori inclusi sufficienti, auricolare professionale. SAREBBE STATO AUSPICABILE UN CARICABATTERIA DA AUTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! incluso nel prezzo e nella dotazione. Per il resto un ottimo acquisto, software CHIRP di programmazione gratuito e semplice da usare. Sarebbe carino avere un file precaricato per i “ponti radio” di zona… ma loro vendono radio……e lo fanno bene.

exceptional quality/price ratio (ideal for expert users) GENERAL IMPRESSIONS Inspired by the excellent price, I purchased the pair of TS-T9+ radios for 115 euros (less than the cost of a single Midland G18 radio: I have owned them for some time and in the review I will make a comparison summary), very fast delivery in less than 48 hours, well packaged and with all the essential accessories, as per the product description. The assembly of the battery, antenna and rear clip is very quick (the antenna with SMA-F connection screws on and simply unscrew on the body of the radio and it can be easily replaced with a different one, even more compact or vice versa more powerful, depending on your needs: they can be found both here on Amazon and on the TechSide website at an excellent price) The manual is also in Italian, distribution and assistance are managed by an Italian company, very ready and available to respond to any requests (contact via Amazon messages and then via email was immediate) Physically the radios are robust but quite light and compact, the antenna supplied has an excellent ratio between size (limited) and performance COMPARISON WITH MIDLAND G18 I believe that these TechSide TS-T9+ can be compared directly with the Midland G18, even if the potential use of the TechSide is objectively much wider (and the price is about half). Having said this, here are some of my banal observations: 1) in terms of dimensions and weight, the TS-T9+ has a slimmer body than the G18 (see photo), the weight is comparable, the antenna of the G18 is a little more compact and short (but the antennas can always be replaced, in both cases) 2) the declared compatibility of the channels is confirmed (partially): the two radios "dialogue" immediately and perfectly with each other on the PMR channels, at least up to channel 8; from channel 9 onwards, the frequencies of my Midland G18s do not correspond to those indicated in the table in the TechSide manual (I think it is a problem - so to speak - of my G18s which in fact from channel 9 onwards repeat the same frequencies as channels 1- 8, and if anything I will have to reprogram them); 3) with some suggestions from the TechSide assistance I also managed quite quickly to set the CTCSS tones on some channels of the TS-T9+ to make them private, always with total correspondence and compatibility with the G18 CONCLUSIONS Even though I have not yet done "to the limit" tests ” in the field, I would like to say that from a functional point of view these TechSide Ts-T9+ are very complete, powerful and versatile radios, with the possibility of configuring an infinite number of parameters. I therefore give five stars with enthusiasm, although with a small reservation, because to fully exploit them immediately you need to be quite an expert (I am not and I found it difficult to understand certain basic procedures, which are taken for granted both in the manual and in the videos or other information that technical assistance offers). Molto semplice da usare , buona condizione in TX ed altrettanta in RX. Buona chiarezza dell’auto parlante e buona sensibilità del microfono . Prodotto esattamente come da descrizione.Solida al tatto, compatta ma con tasti sufficientemente distanziati tra loro e di facile pressione.Software simile alle più classiche baofeng, forse non di facile intuizione per chi è alle prime armi ma in rete è possibile trovare tutte le informazioni per la programmazione.Buona la ricezione e la trasmissione con l’antenna in dotazione.Nessun problema ad agganciare i ponti radio.Batteria di lunga autonomia.L’azienza ha lavorato bene su questa radio e propone altri prodotti davvero molto interessanti.Ricordo che per poter trasmettere è necessario aver conseguito la patente di operatore radioamatoriale mentre per il semplice ascolto non è necessaria alcuna autorizzazione.Prodotto arrivato nei tempi stabiliti e ben imballato.

Debbo ancora trovare qualcuno che mi spieghi come funziona! Il manuale dà per scontato che uno conosca già tutto al riguardo. Poi nell’annuncio non si chiarisce che usarlo è illegale senza l’autorizzazione con relativa tassa annuale degli enti statali preposti…però è bell’apparecchio, dà una bella sensazione di professionale ed e corredato di tutto il necessario.
